From Lost to The River – Fuera de Lugar
From Lost To The River, a band /organisation with a unique approach, promotes and develops activities that intertwine music and science. Since 2005, the band has collaborated with other associations and public and private entities, organising charity concerts and educational musical events that merge science and music in innovative and accessible ways.
After meeting Mara Dierssen, singer and founder of the project, through an interview in the podcast “En Fase Experimental”, we saw that we had to work together. They visited Abbey Road Institute to record their first album, “Fuera de Lugar.” This album’s main idea was to bring to life winning lyrics written by people with disabilities: cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome… Three even won the poetry prize at the Rosetta Literary Competition organised by the Argadini Association.
The album’s production was divided into two recording sessions. The band tracked life and then overdub guitars and Mara’s voice to capture all the nuances and best interpretation of the lyrics.
